José Gutiérrez is a Chicago-based creative director with over 20 years of experience in floral design and event production. As the founder and driving force behind La Orquidea Event Planning, he defines the vision and leads every detail from concept to execution.

Renowned for his distinctive floral artistry and refined aesthetic, José not only designs—he orchestrates. He leads and aligns every team and collaborator involved, ensuring each element comes together seamlessly.

His work is defined by precision, creativity, and intention—bringing each client’s vision to life with sophistication and delivering experiences that are both personal and unforgettable.

Daisy Guerrero

Daisy plays a pivotal role at La Orquídea as our Event Planner. She is responsible for cultivating strong relationships with clients.

Beyond her responsibilities in wedding planning, Daisy Guerrero also serves as our Director of Social Media and Public Relations Manager. In this capacity, she masterfully manages our online interactions with the community, enhancing La Orquídea’s reputation as a leader in wedding planning.

Her dedication and professionalism contribute significantly to the success of our organization, and we are proud to have her as a key member of our team.

Roberto Mojica

Event Coordination Manager

Roberto not only oversees the coordination of quinceañeras and weddings taking on the vital role of lead event manager. His keen attention to detail and unwavering commitment to client satisfaction allow us to bring every client’s vision to life, guaranteeing that each event is a memorable occasion.

Thanks to Roberto's collaboration and expertise, La Orquídea has successfully managed the coordination of countless events, earning us a stellar reputation in the industry. His foresight and strategic approach have been pivotal in achieving our goals and maintaining our standards of excellence.

Ricardo Amaya

Executive Chef | La Orquídea Catering

Chef Ricky Amaya is a Chicago-based Executive Chef with more than two decades of culinary leadership. Chef Ricky is known for blending global techniques with bold and vibrant flavors. With his Mexican roots and a career shaped in Chicago’s diverse culinary scene, Chef Ricky has built a reputation for delivering refined dining experiences while honoring tradition and culture.

His journey in the culinary world began over 23 years ago in Chicago, where he first stepped into professional kitchens and quickly developed a deep passion for hospitality and craftsmanship. Early in his career, he trained in respected and iconic restaurants including Vivo Restaurant, Marché Restaurant, and the renowned Zapatista Restaurant, where he developed a strong foundation in Mediterranean and Latin American cuisine.

From Chicago’s Iconic Kitchens to Culinary Leadership

Chef Ricky’s career continued to grow as he stepped into leadership roles at some of Chicago’s notable dining establishments. He served as chef at the legendary 33 Club Steakhouse, where he refined his mastery of classic American steakhouse cuisine and high-volume operations.

He later expanded his culinary leadership at The Tradition Gastro Pub, embracing modern gastropub cuisine and creative menu development.

Chef Ricky continued his career in premier hospitality environments, leading kitchens at The Julian Hotel Chicago and LondonHouse Chicago, both part of the multimillion-dollar global hospitality company Hilton Hotels & Resorts, where he helped deliver elevated dining experiences within luxury hotel operations.

He later brought his culinary leadership to Lirica, where he helped shape the restaurant’s culinary identity with vibrant Latin-inspired menus.

Today, Chef Ricky leads the culinary program at Offshore, one of Chicago’s most recognized dining destinations, where he continues to innovate while maintaining a strong focus on seasonality, hospitality, and bold global flavors.

In 2022, he was awarded “Best Chef” at the Taste of the Line in America, a national culinary competition hosted by Sysco, recognizing his creativity, leadership, and excellence within the culinary industry.

Ricardo leads the culinary experience at La Orquídea, bringing creativity, precision, and passion to every menu.

José Manuel Garcia

Chef José Manuel García brings a deep passion for authentic Mexican cuisine and a refined dedication to traditional culinary techniques. With a strong focus on the rich and diverse flavors of Mexico, he has developed a particular expertise in regional dishes that celebrate the country’s vibrant gastronomic heritage.

His signature specialty is the renowned Veracruz-style mole, a complex and deeply flavorful dish that reflects both tradition and artistry in Mexican cooking. Through careful preparation and attention to detail, Chef García honors the time-honored recipes that define this iconic cuisine while delivering dishes that are both authentic and memorable.

With a commitment to quality ingredients, bold flavors, and culinary craftsmanship, Chef García continues to bring the spirit of Mexican gastronomy to every plate he creates.
